DATABASE OF SMMEs & BLACK SUPPLIERS
Our clients have access to a growing pool of bona fide ‘transaction-ready’ SMMEs & Black suppliers, thereby cutting costs and managing their risks by introducing suppliers that are not compliant and not been able to execute on procurement requests. As an agency of the South African Supplier Diversity Council (SASDC) we further facilitate membership to the SASDC that further enhances a company’s ability to access a database of certified bona fide black suppliers. The SASDC creates an environment conducive for business linkages between targeted corporate procurement opportunities and transaction-ready black suppliers.
We implement a rigorous SMME & black supplier vetting process (based on a supplier verification process listed below) and maintains a database of vetted SMMEs & black suppliers with whom our clients would be prepared to transact. Applicant SMMEs / Black Suppliers that are successfully vetted are loaded onto our Supplier Information System database. Suppliers are segmented on the basis of their commodity, industry, sector and area. Access to this database is offered to clients at a nominal fee per supplier and is exclusive to clients with whom we have a contractual relationship.
SUPPLIER / TENDER VERIFICATION
We follow a rigorous due diligence audit to assess our SMMEs & Black suppliers
Due diligence is about independently verifying a supplier’s ability to deliver fully against a contract or a tender bid. It’s a matter of prudence and good business practice. Our role during the due diligence audit is to check and confirm that the supplier is transact-ready.
Due diligence means checking that the supplier or tenderer:
· Is who they claim to be
· Is financially sound
· Has the capacity, capability and expertise to deliver
· Has the systems and processes to deliver
· Has a strong understanding of the contract deliverables and requirements and its obligations under the contract.
Our verification process or vetting is focused and directed to make an opinion whether the supplier or tenderer has the ability to deliver fully against a contract if award is made or been introduced within the supply chain. The decision to award rests with the Client. Our work is to assist the Client in their evaluation process. In order to check for compliance the following pre-determined areas forms part of our vetting: Legal Status, BBBEE compliance, Financial ability / Creditworthiness and Ability to deliver/perform in terms of the scope of work.
